The Missouri Department of Transportation reports its St. Louis work zones for May 16-22.
The Senior PGA golf tournament comes to St. Louis and it will include road closures beginning next week. Route AB (Ladue Road) will be closed between Route 141 and Mason Road from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily from Tuesday, May 21 through Sunday, May 26. Mason Road will also be closed during these same hours and days from West Wailing to Ladue Road. The Missouri Department of Transportation will have lane closures on a few interstates this weekend. Two lanes will be closed on southbound I-170 at Route 180 (St. Charles Rock Road) at 9 p.m. Friday, May 17 to perform preventative maintenance on the I-170 bridge over Route 180. Authorities say two people died at the scene and another passed away at a hospital following a head-on crash late Friday.
Ladue Police Chief Rich Wooten has confirmed early Saturday that three people died Friday evening in a 2 car head-on crash when a driver attempted to pass another car on Ladue Road at Gouverneur Lane. Wooten said a 2007 Ford Focus, driven by Kyle Weeks, 25, of Olivette, was westbound on Ladue just before 9 p.m. Friday when it passed another vehicle and struck a 2004 Volkswagon Jetta, driven by Melanie Michailidis, 46, of St. Louis, which was eastbound. Weeks and Michailidis were pronounced dead at the scene. Joseph Jacob, 41 of San Francisco, CA, who was a passenger in the eastbound vehicle, was taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis where he later died. Ladue Police are still investigating details and reconstruction of a deadly crash which occurred on Ladue Road at Gouverneur Lane just east of Warson Road. A woman was pronounced dead at the scene and two men died shortly thereafter at an area hospital. Police Chief Rich Wooten of the Ladue Police said names have not been released as of 6:30 a.m. Saturday but should be released later once next of kin are all notified. The accident took place shortly after 9 p.m. Friday. The accident was between Warson Road and the entrance to St. Louis Country Club to the east. Update 9:53 a.m. According to Lieutenant Darrin McClure, this may have been two separate accidents involved a half-dozen cars. Police are conducting an investigation. McClure indicated the preliminary report indicated no serious injuries. Drivers should stay clear of the southbound lanes of I-170 at Ladue Road. Ladue police and fire personnel are tending to a multiple car wreck on the median lane of the highway. It looks to be more than a half-dozen cars are involved in the pileup with some of the autombiles being heavily damaged. The-Ladue Frontenac Patch will update this story as details are forthcoming.

We told you a few weeks ago about likely traffic delays in September on Ladue Road just east of I-170. That's because contractors plan to construct a crosswalk linking a massive sidewalk project on either side of Ladue. The crosswalk is in the area of Ladue Road at Hunter Avenue just east of the Schnucks Ladue Crossing Center. Ladue Road will be narrowed to one lane while a new crosswalk is being built.
Currently, a two-mile long, 10-foot wide concrete pedestrian/bicycle trail construction project is underway in the City of Ladue. This project is known as the Centennial Greenway, connecting trails from University City all the way to Creve Coeur Park. The project is located east of I-170 from Shaw Park to Olive Boulevard. The project includes construction of a new stamped, colored and concrete crosswalk located on Ladue Road, 800 feet east of I-170. This is the area of Ladue Road at Hunter Avenue due east of the Schnucks Ladue Crossing Center. During daylight hours, there will be road closures during the month of September on Ladue Road to allow for construction of the concrete crosswalk. One half of Ladue Road will be closed at a time. …

The two-car crash happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. Saturday, a Ladue Fire Department official said.
One person sustained minor injuries in a two-car accident Saturday on southbound Interstate 170, a Ladue Fire Department official said. It happened between Delmar Boulevard and Ladue Road. Officials received a call for help at about 8:40 p.m., Lt. Gary Kreitler said. One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and the scene had been cleared by about 10 p.m. The accident shut down all but the left lane of traffic on southbound I-170 while emergency officials worked the scene. The Ladue and Olivette fire departments responded to the accident, Kreitler said. Police vehicles and tow trucks also provided assistance. A utility light more than 20 feet tall lit the area.
