While Katie Karl and Katie Prosperi get double teammed, Robinson nets 5 big goals.
The Westminster Wildcats' strategy was to stop St. Joe high scoring tandem Katie Karl and Katie Prosperi. That left an opening for junior Abbey Robinson and she stepped up. Bombers stage big rally to come from behind and defeat host Westminster, 63-61.
No one could ever make a case that the Burroughs Bombers aren’t a clutch basketball team. Down by as many as 18, the Bombers staged one of those Hollywood type come-from-behind efforts to edge Westminster Christian Academy on the Wildcats home court, 63-61. This could have been one of those classic trap type games. Westminster was primed and ready. A big home loss to Burroughs on their football field was hardly forgotten. The Cats packed the joint with noisy, boisterous students. The crowd roared with approval when prior to the game, gritty senior John Eric Steiner was honored alongside his parents for reaching the 1,000 career plateau earlier in the week. “We weren’t guarding anybody. They were getting outside shots,” said Bomber coach …

Wilcats lose to Smithville 47-37. To play in the third-place game with St. Louis' Miller Career Academy.
Columbia--The Westminster Christian Academy team came to Mizzou Arena with high expectations. What they got in the semifinals with Smithville in Class 4 was a disappointing loss. The Wildcats can count the ways. The taller, more physical Westminster team was out maneuvered often by Smithfield, who goes into the title game with a 27-5 mark. "It was a tough game. We just never got into the flow," said Westminster coach Steve Stipanovich. Smithville made last year's final 4 and was able to capitalize on that experience. The game stayed at pretty much a 10 and 11 point lead for Smithville in the final 16 minutes. The Wildcats made a late run, cutting the lead to three, 37-34. For a moment it looked like an unlikely hero would step up. Senior …
