Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School has formally announced the search for their next Head of School. In 2009, Sister Lucie Nordmann took over as interim head of school under a three-year contract, set to expired in June 2013. “Sr. Nordmann has set ambitious goals for 2012-13, the achievement of which will further strengthen her legacy,” said John J. Hanichak, chair of Villa’s board of trustees, in a statement on Villa’s website. “Sr. Nordmann and the Board of Trustees will have ongoing discussions on what role she wishes to have in the future.” The school has retained the services of Education Access Strategies to assist in the search for the new head of school. Villa Duchesne School Community Collecting Non Perishable Items to be delivered to Joplin Food Banks Tomorrow.
The Villa Duchesne Oak Hill School community will be collecting non perishable items until 8 p.m. tonight for tornado victims in Joplin. A donated Enterprise Leasing truck will take thousands of pounds of food stuffs, personal hygiene items and other donations to various drop off points in the tornado relief recovery zone in Joplin. Cash donations will be gladly accepted. This drive was quickly organized by co-chairs and Villa parents Coni Kreisch and Tracy Bazoian. "Our goal is to fill the entire truck, and we have a second donated truck standing by if we need it," said Kreisch in the early morning hours today. Donations through midday were brisk.
