Girls' Summer Camp at Tilles Park Celebrated 100 Years of Girl Scouting

Brief Interlude at Tilles Park in Brentwood was a fun and educational experience for all who attended.

Girls entering Kindergarten through fifth grade participated in the Girl Scout summer day camp at Tilles Park in Ladue last week. This five day camp was packed full of fun, games and educational experiences.   “The camp teaches the girls outdoor skills. They get to meet other girls from girl scouting that are not from their troop. We teach core values, leadership and service,” said Kat Dunne, Director of Day Camp at Tilles Park and Troop Leader at St. Michael’s School in Clayton. The theme this year, A Century of Girl Scouting, was chosen to celebrate the Girl Scouts Centennial year. Girls Scouts of the USA was founded in 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low. “We did things girls did over the past one hundred years. One day was beads for the 60’s, …

Easter Egg Hunt in Tilles Park

Sponsored for sixth year by Mc Knight Crossings Church of Christ.

For the sixth straight year, the Easter Egg Hunt in Tilles Park in Ladue was an unqualified success. Judging by the number of children with their parents, and the cars spread throughout the park, this was the pefect way to start off the holiest weekend in the Christian world. McKnight Crossing Church of Christ was the gracious host to all of these children. Children had the opportunity to play games of skill and chance and everyone took home prizes. There were Easter egg hunts on the lush grass in the park. The Easter bunny posed for pictures and the Ladue Fire …

Swinter Comes To St. Louis With a Vengeance

A premature spring means cold, rainy weather is just around the corner.

Ah the post cards from Florida and Arizona and California. Eighty degrees and sunshine-wish you were here? Remember those days? We’d send out post cards from Florida, just to make those stuck back at home turn green with envy. In Maine, its so warm (70 degrees), the kids are skiing in swim suits. They simply call it "Swinter." Looks like the tables have rotated. Maybe, the worm has turned? All the folks left behind at home are enjoying equal or better weather than all the exotic ports around the globe. Those basking in the sunshine in Cancun, at South Padre Island and Destin, FL on spring break are no better off than those of us stuck behind at home. Start Spring by subscribing to the Ladue-Frontenac Newsletter. This weather is unreal. …
