Ladue Schools Cautious After Instagram Threat Used Image of Newtown Shooter

Police patrol all the schools and the day was very uneventful.

As is said in the vernacular: “All is quiet on the western front.” After a threat was made anonymously on an Instagram account sometime Wednesday, Fox 2 News reported a second Instagram account had been created and that the user profile picture was that of the shooter in the Sandy Hook shooting in Newtown, CT. And with that Ladue school officials exerted extra caution and delivered an overnight message to school parents and the media that security would be heightened and extra caution taken at all buildings in the district on Thursday. School officials were working with local police in Ladue, Olivette and Creve Coeur at 2 in the morning to make sure all security possible would be in place. Ladue Students Lead Area in Test Scoring: The Big Story of the Week

Ladue's students achieve 14 of 14 standards this past year.

The Ladue School students returned to the classroom this week, and the district got a very good report card to start the term. Ladue was in a handful of local school districts to score at the top of the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) testing for its students. Ladue, along with Brentwood and Kirkwood took top honors in math scores with the students scoring 77 percent on their tests. Lindbergh ranked third in the state in math and tops in the region with 84 percent of students scoring proficient or advanced scores. Ladue topped all the area schools in Communications Arts results with 78.9 percent. That was followed by Lindbergh with 78.5 percent; Kirkwood 77.5 percent;Clayton 75.5 percent and Rockwood 74.69 percent. Statewide, 55 percent …

We're not just talking about one set of data. As Jim Baer stated below, the LSD has a 60 year history of great results, which will continue "long after all of us are gone". The situation with Soldan was caused by a demographic / population shift, not one caused by a decline in spending per student.
