The Missouri Department of Transportation reports its St. Louis work zones for Dec. 20-26.
The opening of an additional lane on northbound Interstate 270 and ramps on I-55 will mean smoother travel for some area commuters. Wednesday afternoon, MoDOT crews opened a new northbound lane on Interstate 270 between I-44 and Manchester Road. The new lane of roadway will increase the number of vehicles that can travel through the area during morning rush hour and decrease congestion for commuters. In Jefferson County, MoDOT crews opened the eastbound Route M entrance ramp to northbound I-55 and the northbound I-55 exit ramp to Route M. This project consists of improvements to the I-55 at Route M interchange, which will greatly enhance its safety and traffic flow. Missouri Department of Transportation reports its St. Louis work zones for Dec. 13-19.
Drivers heading downtown on Interstate 70 this weekend may want to consider alternate routes as the Missouri Department of Transportation will close various lanes on the interstate this weekend. Crews will place girders over the interstate as part of work to connect the future new Mississippi River Bridge to Cass Avenue. The following lanes and ramps will be closed: Friday evening rush period drivers heading into the city may want to consider other routes due to potential congestion on eastbound I-70. Overnight Friday, drivers should allow themselves extra time to get to their destinations, or take alternate routes. Motorists should be aware of the following on-going closures:

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports on its St. Louis work zones for November 15-21.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will close all lanes and ramps on the eastbound double deck structure downtown from Jefferson Avenue to the Poplar Street Bridge, starting at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16. Since work is directly over downtown lanes of Interstate 55 and I-70, traffic on those interstates may be shifted as crews work overhead. All eastbound I-64 lanes and most ramps should reopen by 5:30 a.m., Monday. This should be the final major closure on the interstate as part of the project to remove and replace the driving surface. The Missouri Department of Transportation reports St. Louis work zones for November 8 -14.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will close all lanes on eastbound Interstate 64 downtown from Jefferson to the Poplar Street Bridge November 8-12. Crews will be working on the section of the double deck just over I-55 and the depressed lanes of I-70 downtown. While crews are working on the roadway above, drivers on I-55 heading to I-70 may be detoured onto Memorial Drive and back to the interstate for safety. The ramps from Forest Park Avenue and Pine Street to eastbound I-64 are closed around the clock through November. Motorists should be aware of the following on-going closures:
