Several hundred million, but none of it is for sale other than the old Wright School property.
If someone was to sell their house, they would get a real estate agent or an assessor to put a valuation on that particular piece of property. The agent would add up the square footage, count the number of rooms, fixtures and value of the property and come up with a given figure. The Ladue School District is no different. Though no buildings will be up for sale (other than the location of the old Early Childhood Center), millions of dollars are wrapped up in value to the district. Here’s a look at the school buildings in the district, their founding years and current assessed valuations. Reed School, built in 1938. 60,565 square feet. Replacement Costs: building $12 million, $114 thousand. Contents: $3 million, $430 thousand; total $15 …

School will be in session on August 14th, bright and early.
Spirits are high as school begins to come back into session for the 4,000 students in the Ladue School District. The first full day of school is Tuesday, August 14 throughout the district. New certified teachers and administrators have gone through a rigerous orientation. They are cramming for the first day of school. With a rodeo theme, there was time for touring and a family style barbeque to boot. New principals are in place at Spoede Elementary, Ladue Middle and Ladue High School. Ladue High will have a new hard maple floor starting to be installed in the Nielson gym right after the Blue and White Spirit Night. The middle and high school parking lots are all blacktopped. Third annual Ladue District Choral Festival a splendid performance all the way around.
One thing that can bond the Ladue School District together is a love of singing. For the third consecutive year, the halls were alive with music as hundreds of choral participants strutted their stuff at the annual Ladue School District Choral Festival. There were hardly enough seats to accommodate the overflow crowd that filled the new performance center at Ladue Horton Watkins High School on Tuesday night. Ladue’s Choral Director Thomas Lowery couldn’t be happier, watching the seats fill up prior to the start of the performance. “This is a great showcase for our vocal students. They love to perform on the stage here at Ladue High,” he said. Directing the event was Dr. Jeffrey Carter, native Missourian and chairman of the music department…

The Schlafly clan wants good secular public schools about as much as they want to prove the theory of evolution correct. They don't care about the tax issue because they think too much is being spent, they care about it because the schools are secular. If they can cut off the money and strangle the baby in it's crib, so much the better. It's much easier than what they've been trying to do for the…   more ›
