MICDS Will Be Especially Busy Over the Holiday Break

Rams teams will be in action in their own holiday basketball tournament and away ice hockey games.

Information was provided by the Communications Department at MICDS. MICDS students will be on winter break beginning Friday, December 21, 2012 through Sunday, January 6, 2013. Students will return and classes will resume on Monday, January 7, 2013. School offices will be closed on December 24 and 25, and again on December 31 and January 1. Most offices will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on all other days during the break. Both boys and girls varsity basketball teams will be participating in the annual MICDS Holiday Tournament. The tournament gets underway in McDonnell Gymnasium with opening round games on December 21 and 22, and continues December 26-27-28-29. Registration Is Open for 2012 Polar Plunge

The Lake Saint Louis Community Association will once again host the Special Olympics fundraiser on Feb. 4.

"Fun" isn't exactly the word that comes to mind when you think about jumping into a frozen lake in February. But the Special Olympics' Polar Plunge is exactly that. In addition, the event raises money to improve the lives of thousands of local children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Last year's Polar Plunge at Lake Saint Louis raised nearly $90,000 for Missouri Special Olympics. Registration is now open for the 2012 Polar Plunge, which is held at the Community Association clubhouse. Participants can register online and use a secure system to create a personal fundraising page where donations from friends and family are tallied.
