Ladue, Frontenac Public Works Well Prepared for Any Winter Storm.
When the snow storm blasted the St. Louis area this weekend, you can be sure like good Boy Scouts, the Public Works Departments of Ladue and Frontenac were well prepared. Preparation actually began during the hot days of July when orders for salt and Calcium Chloride were placed at more reasonable prices and shipped by barge up the Mississippi River. Ladue Public Works: Dennis Bible, 64, Vietnam veteran and 40-year Ladue employee has headed up Ladue's Public Works Department for more than 20 years. Injured on the job as a Ladue firefighter (an arsoned home in Frontenac exploded), he eventually went from disability to his present position. Now he supervises a crew who plow, spread salt and Calcium Chloride on 22 miles of city streets. That …
