Villa Duchesne Searches For New Head of School

Current Head of School Lucie Nordmann will retire from the position at the end of the school year.

Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School has formally announced the search for their next Head of School. In 2009, Sister Lucie Nordmann took over as interim head of school under a three-year contract, set to expired in June 2013. “Sr. Nordmann has set ambitious goals for 2012-13, the achievement of which will further strengthen her legacy,” said John J. Hanichak, chair of Villa’s board of trustees, in a statement on Villa’s website. “Sr. Nordmann and the Board of Trustees will have ongoing discussions on what role she wishes to have in the future.” The school has retained the services of Education Access Strategies to assist in the search for the new head of school. Food Basket Collection at Villa Duchesne Another Big Success

Thousands of pounds of non-perishable food items and materials for keeping warm go to families throughout metro St. Louis.

Administrator Krista Richardson of Villa Duchesne and her girls celebrated the end of the first semester by having another highly successful food basketball collection drive. Nearly 400 baskets were collected and distributed to a wide variety of charities, churches and non-profits throughout the region. In this stressed economy the requests for aid were greather than ever before. By 7:30 a.m. Wednesday cars were lined up, with donors dropping off huge baskets of food. They also donated blankets, gloves, sweaters, baby essentials and other items. Oak Hill Kindergartners Perform Christmas Pageant

Beautiful performance in the Villa Duchesne student chapel.

This week was one of merriment for the children at Oak Hill School. Students in junior Kindergarten, pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten put on a holiday pageant in the chapel at Villa Duchesne. Pupils recreated the Nativity Scene, spoke the parts and sang all the appropriate choral numbers of the season. These are the teachers who directed the performance. Director: Mrs. Teresa Reeves.
