St. Joe Angels 1 Game Away From a State Title

Angels in the hunt for a 7th title in school history. They meet the winner of Columbia Rock Bridge and Blue Springs of Kansas City.

Sydney Stipanovich and Erin Nelson have accomplished many things during their brilliant high school basketball careers. But winning a Missouri Class 5 state title has not been one of them. The Angels of St. Joseph’s Academy are 32-minutes away from winning their first title since 2004 and a 7th in school history. Their opponent will be either Columbia Rock Bridge or Blue Springs. They beat Blue Springs but lost to Rock Bridge earlier this year. The duo of Stipanovich and Nelson blew the doors off the Cor Jesu Academy defense. The two combined for 37 points. St. Joe and Cor Jesu Clash in Class 5 State Basketball Semifinals Friday

If past results are any indication, then the Angels of St. Joseph's Academy may just be on solid footing. St. Joe (22-5) meets Cor Jesu Academy of Affton (21-9) in the semifinals Friday night at Mizzou Arena, tipoff is 6:15 p.m. The winner advances to the Saturday night Show-Me Showdown finals at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. The consolation game will be held at 1:15 p.m. Saturday. The opponent will be either Columbia Rock Bridge (23-3) or Blue Springs of Kansas City (28-2). The Angels have previously played all of these teams this year. They beat Blue Springs 60-38 in the Visitation Academy Holiday tournament. St. Joe and DeSmet make the big screen on the biggest games of the season.

    FOX Sports Midwest will provide live coverage of the MSHSAA Show-Me Showdown Class 4 and 5 basketball championships this week in Columbia. Semifinal and third place games will stream live at FOXSportsMidwest.com, while Saturday’s championship games from Mizzou Arena will be televised live on FOX Sports Midwest Plus. A complete schedule and list of channel numbers is attached.  Show-Me Showdown games will also air live nationally on FOX College Sports. Neil Harwell and Corey Riggs will handle play-by-play duties for the Class 4 and 5 championship games, with Doug Elstun and Jim Powers as analysts. Fox Has Heavy Schedule of State Basketball Championship Games

Show Me Show-Down semifinal and championship games on Fox this weekend.

  FOX Sports Midwest will provide live coverage of the MSHSAA Show-Me Showdown basketball championships starting this Thursday. Semifinal and third place games will be streamed live at FOXSportsMidwest.com. Championship games will be televised live on FOX Sports Midwest Plus. Coverage from Columbia runs Thursday through Saturday with Class 4 and 5 boys and girls games, and continues March 15-17 with Classes 1, 2 and 3. The championships game telecasts will air on FOX Sports Midwest Plus and FOX Sports Kansas City Plus, a channel used by FOX Sports Midwest to simultaneously show multiple events on two channels, due to overlap with other live programming.
