Saks Fifth Avenue CEO Says Frontenac Has Growth Potential

Saks' CEO says Plaza Frontenac's location is among the retailer’s “high growth potential” stores, according to the St. Louis Business Journal.

According to a recent article in the St. Louis Business Journal, Saks Fifth Avenue CEO Stephen Sadove said the Saks located at Plaza Frontenac is among the retailer’s “high growth potential.” (Read St. Louis Business Journal article here.) The article states that a recent earnings release by identified several Saks Fifth Avenue stores with high growth potential. The St. Louis location at Plaza Frontenac was reportedly among those stories. Last year, the Frontenac location began a $5 million renovation of store, according to the article. Saks has reportedly been in that location since 1973 when it moved from the Central West End.

Patrons Get Sneak Peek of Saks Fifth Avenue Renovation

The renovation will bring new shoe brands and designers to St. Louis.

Tonight, the newly renovated Saks Fifth Avenue store at Plaza Frontenac will host a private event showing some of the store’s new features. The first phase of the $5 million renovation will include a redesigned interior and will double the size of the shoe department, according to a March St. Louis Business Journal article. The store will also bring new brands, such as Manolo Blahnik and Miu Miu shoes, Diane von Furstenberg and Alexander McQueen handbags, and Rebecca Minkoff and Milly apparel, according to a St. Louis Post Dispatch article. Fashion's Night Out Celebrated at Plaza Frontenac

The shopping center's anchor stores, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue, both opened their doors to fashion fans for good causes.

On Thursday night, people from across the St. Louis area gathered at Plaza Frontenac to celebrate Fashion's Night Out, an annual event that celebrates fashion and charity. "It's a way for businesses that are fashion-forward to donate to really good causes," said Alexis Weinstein, an attendee. Stores across the country (and the world) held special events, with proceeds going to charities of their choosing. At Saks Fifth Avenue, donations were made to the Humane Society of Missouri. Across the shopping center at Neiman Marcus, money was raised for Gateway to Hope. "We're very pleased to partner with Saks in helping to promote their wonderful store and their willingness to help raise money and support for the animals we care for," said Kathy …

Here's a sneak preview of colorful and chic spring fashions lighting up the local landscape.

Spring fashions are rushing to town like icy winter water cascading down the Rocky Mountains. The word is out for spring fashion and it's trifold: Fuchsia and oranges and blues are in, so too are teals, and the traditional black and white is always stately and correct.
