Lacrosse All-Star Game Played in the Name of the Late Roslyn L. Schulte

Former John Burroughs star lost her life in a roadside bombing in Afghanistan.

Know what happens when you mix pink with blue?  You get purple. That’s the color in the Purple Heart, a special award presented to American service personnel wounded or killed in the line of duty while serving their country. On May 20, 2009 First Lieutenant Roslyn L. Schulte of Ladue, graduate of John Burroughs and the United States Air Force Academy lost her life in a road-side bombing in Kabul, Afghanistan. She had big future plans, including marriage to a fellow Air Force officer. She became the first air academy female graduate to die in the line of duty on the Global War on Terrorism. Roslyn L. Schulte Memorial Senior Girls All-Star Lacrosse game at MICDS

This game Wednesday night will be played in the memory of former Burroughs star who lost her life while on duty in Afghanistan.

Local girls lacrosse is taking a step forward. This Wednesday night, at 6 p.m. at Mary Institute Country Day School local officials will hold the first ever all-star game for girls. This game is being organized by Judith Anderson, lacrosse coach at Ursuline Academy. The game is dedicated to the memory of Roz Schulte. Roz was an enthusiastic player at John Burroughs. She went on to graduate from the Air Force Academy and died in combat in Afghanistan. The late officer was recognized on Memorial Day at the Jewish Community Center in Creve Coeur. She received the Medal of Valor posthumously for her bravery. Officials will present a memorial plaque to Bob and Susie Schulte. Bob Penke who also attended the Air Force Academy will present the …
