There was damage to a school room. Good thing the morons didn't do this during the day when children may have been present. Maybe your child - wait - you pray to the nanny state - so you probably home school to save money and not further burden the public school system. What a guy!   more ›

Central Corridor Haunts

Mesa Cycles is a One Stop Shop for All Your Cycling Needs

Whether you ride for leisure or competition, the store will help you hit the road.

This week, we head to Richmond Heights as part of our weekly series on profiling haunts in the Central Corridor.  Mesa Cycles is a one-stop shop for all of your cycling needs. As a former avid runner (I hope to return now that the kids are in school), the concept of a whole store devoted to bikes and cycling apparel is a foreign one to me. I was amazed to see that Mesa Cycles offers a wide variety of services including new sales, special orders, apparel and accessory sales, as well as maintenance and repair services.  In addition, the owners at Mesa Cycles offer customer service beyond what I have experienced before.  Russ and Adrienne Murphy, owners of Mesa Cycles put their passion for cycles into business in 1991. Clayton-Richmond …

Chelsea Marie, A Budding Local Artist

You see Chelsea Marie at Ladue's Deer Creek Coffee, but her real calling is mural art and illustrations.

Sometimes, famous people just don’t need a last name. Look at Madonna. How about Rihanna? The great soccer player Pelé? Artists such as Rembrandt, Michelangelo or Titian? Chelsea Marie (Ritter Soronen) would like to be known by her surname too. This 24-year-old is carving out a career as a mural artist and illustrator in her adopted community of St. Louis. By day, she works 20 to 30 hours a week at Deer Creek Coffee in Ladue. By mid-day, she’s off to her 50-hour a week routine as a mural painter and illustrator, with gigs across the community. She lives with her two cats in Richmond Heights. Although not famous or rich yet, she’d love to combine her passion for serving charity and nonprofits with her motivating work in art. A 2008 graduate…
