'Sneak Peek,' Barbecue, Ice Cream Social: Ladue Elementary Schools Set to Go

Old Bonhomme will be part of the Olivette Patch starting the end of August.

There’s all kinds of news to report throughout the elementary schools in the Ladue School District. School starts for everyone Tuesday, bright and early. All four schools are getting new technology resources for students and teachers alike. The upgrades and additions include laptop computers, desktop systems, iPads and a general expansion into the 21st century resources. Ladue Welcomes 21 New Teachers; Certified Staff

School will be in session on August 14th, bright and early.

Spirits are high as school begins to come back into session for the 4,000 students in the Ladue School District. The first full day of school is Tuesday, August 14 throughout the district. New certified teachers and administrators have gone through a rigerous orientation. They are cramming for the first day of school. With a rodeo theme, there was time for touring and a family style barbeque to boot. New principals are in place at Spoede Elementary, Ladue Middle and Ladue High School. Ladue High will have a new hard maple floor starting to be installed in the Nielson gym right after the Blue and White Spirit Night. The middle and high school parking lots are all blacktopped. SingFest: The Halls Were Alive With the Sounds of Music

Third annual Ladue District Choral Festival a splendid performance all the way around.

One thing that can bond the Ladue School District together is a love of singing. For the third consecutive year, the halls were alive with music as hundreds of choral participants strutted their stuff at the annual Ladue School District Choral Festival. There were hardly enough seats to accommodate the overflow crowd that filled the new performance center at Ladue Horton Watkins High School on Tuesday night. Ladue’s Choral Director Thomas Lowery couldn’t be happier, watching the seats fill up prior to the start of the performance. “This is a great showcase for our vocal students. Ladue School District has 21 New Certified Teachers This Coming School Year

Every school has new staff with the exception of the middle school.

The Ladue School District has 21 new members of its certified teaching staff for the 2011-12 school year. Here are the new teaching hires, listed by buildings: Reed Elementary School Heather Clark, teacher She is a graduate of Missouri Baptist University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and has served as a teacheing assistant at Reed. Kelly Emshoff, teacher She has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Missouri, St. Louis and served as a teaching assistant at Reed. Rebecca Hamm, third grade She has an elementary education degree from Southwest Baptist University and taught first and third grade in the Fair Play School District.
