Local Football Players & Programs to be Recognized by National Football Foundation

Players recognized will come from all over the region.

Thirteen local football players plus other athletes and teams will be honored as scholar/athletes on Sunday, May 5, at a formal banquet at Orlando Gardens Center in South St. Louis County. Burroughs, MICDS Football Stars to be Honored by Football Foundation Tonight

Jehu Chesson, Ladue, Michael Scherer, MICDS honored with Rams Golden Horn Elite status.

Local football players will be in formal attire this evening as they are honored at the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Tom Lombardo chapter dinner. Sam Hefler, a two sport star at John Burroughs (football linebacker and baseball catcher) and Jack Howell, wide receiver from MICDS will be honored at this gala tonight at the Orlando Gardens Banquet Center in South St. Louis County. Hefler, who will join the class of 2016 at Dartmouth College was nominated by his football coach Gus Frerotte and Burroughs Athletic Director Peter Tasker. Howell, who is headed to Brown University was nominated by his coach Josh Smith and Athletic Director Don Maurer. A number of players from the area will be honored along with ‘Coach of the…
