Congratulations To The Spring Sports MVPs

We're taking a last look at all of the spring athletes who earned your vote over the last few months.

As the spring sports season heads into the final few weeks of the postseason, we want to make sure you take a moment to recognize the athletes who have earned your vote this spring during our MVP voting contest. The MVP poll will be back in the fall, just in time for boy's soccer, football and softball, just to name a few fall sports. Coming tomorrow and Wednesday we'll name our Boys and Girls Spring Athletes of the Year.

MVP Week 6, Katie Karl, St. Joe Lacrosse

Junior attacker, third most productive scorer in the Metro.

Katie Karl, junior attacker is the run-away winner of the MVP "Athlete of the Week" in Ladue, Frontenac and Olivette. She richly deserves that honor. She has 60 goals, 35 assists for 95 points and the Angels go into the playoffs with their best record ever, 15-3. Here's what she had to say to Patch.com: Patch.com: How is your season going? Katie Karl: "I am so happy with the way our season has been going this year. We have really come together and grown as a team. I am so proud of the way the whole team works together in order to win games. Maria Vetter, Ladue Soccer: MVP "Athlete of the Week"

Maria Vetter, senior midfielder for the Ladue High soccer team is the Ladue-Frontenac-Olivette Athlete of the Week. She is deserving of this recognition and a strong leader for Ladue, the top team in their conference. This is what she told to Patch.com: Patch: Where are you going to school next year? Maria Vetter: I will be attending Boston College next year and majoring in business leadership and administration. Patch: What do you like most about being on this team? Patch MVP, Week 5, Voting is Underway

2 track stars, soccer and baseball player comprise this week's ballot.

Voting is currently underway for MVP "Athlete of the Week" among the schools in the Ladue-Frontenac-Olivette Patches. The voting ends on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Vote for your favorite, and make sure your friends, relatives, neighbors do the same. Think about it, quite an honor to be the best athlete among so many fine ones in the area. This week's slate of candidates: Maria Vetter, Ladue High soccer. The Rams are 13-3. This fiery midfielder/defender is a captain and team leader. She has 6 goals, 3 assists for 15 points, playing back mostly. Alex Jasiek, John Burroughs baseball. A hockey star, he is a hard thrower on the mound. Limited Priory to 3 hits in a 3-0 victory. Bombers are coming back at 7-6 after a 2-2 split in the Clayton tournament…

Nina Simon: St. Joe Soccer, MVP "Athlete of the Week"

Leads the defense on a 10-2 team; top rated in the area.

Nina Simon is a junior defender for one of the top soccer teams in the Midwest. Defenders don't get a chance to pile up statistics, but her defensive skills and ability to set up forwards makes a great deal of difference on this team. Already, she has agreed to play college ball at Arkansas State University. This is what Simon told Patch.com. Patch.com: How is your season going? Kaley Nieters: MVP, a Future Cyclone

Kaley Nieters is this week's Ladue-Frontenac-Olivette MVP "Athlete of the Week." She got great voting support from the St. Joseph's Academy school community. Nieters has 7 goals, 6 assists for 20 points and the Angels, who just defeated Cor Jesu are 8-1. They won their division of the St. Louis Classic last weekend. As we turn the corner on spring, and hopefully warmer weather, here is the ballot for week 3 of the spring season. Kaley Nieters, St. Joe soccer. Going into the weekend St. Louis Classic, hosted by the Angels, Neters has 15 goals, 3 assists and 3 game winning goals and the Angels are 4-1. Chris Beckman, Ladue water polo. The Rams are 8-4, and Beckman leads the scoring with 16 goals, 9 assists for 41 points. He had 4 goals to lead Ladue over Burroughs 11-5. Caroline Militello, MICDS soccer. Headed to Columbia University and the Ivy League, the Rams are 10-0 after winning at St. Charles West. She has 9 goals, 3 assists for 21 points and 1 game winning goal. Klasey Medelberg: MICDS Soccer, MVP This Week

Klasey Medelberg is a sophomore soccer player on a 10-0 team. She scored the game-winning goal in a 4-0 win over visiting John Burroughs this week. She has 10 goals this season and was a popular in the selection in a field filled with abundant talent. This is what she told Patch.com. Patch.com: How is your season going? Anna Nelson, Ladue Track: MVP for Week No. 1

Ladue High's Anna Nelson has been a standout for both the cross country and track teams at Ladue. After looking at a variety of schools, she is taking her talents to either SMU or TCU next year. This is what she told to Patch.com. Patch.com: Have you thought about college for next year? Anna Nelson: I have yet to select a college for next year. I was recruited and considered some bigger universities like Mizzou, KU, and University of Mississippi, but have now narrowed it down to Texas Christian University and Southern Methodist University, both in Texas.  I plan to run both track and cross country at either school next year.   Patch: How is your season going? MVP Week 1 of the Spring: Let's Get Started

Spring sports are officially underway. Soccer, baseball, lacrosse teams have gotten out doors and into action.

Editor's note: Since this is spring break, and so many voters are gone to the beach or the mountains, voting will begin today, and end on Monday, April 1 at 5 p.m. Please vote in our first spring poll. No time like the present to vote for our MVP "Athlete of the Week." Some of the local teams are getting games under their belts, even prior to the Easter weekend.
