Lambert-St. Louis International Airport Expects Increased Holiday Traffic

Officials urge Thanksgiving travelers to come early and be prepared.

Lambert-St. Louis International Airport officials said they expect a 10-15 percent daily increase in passengers each day through the Thanksgiving holiday. In its annual Thanksgiving travel forecast, AAA predicts 43.6 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home over the holiday, up just 0.7 percent from last year. The biggest single travel day of the holiday weekend for Lambert is projected to be the Sunday following Thanksgiving. Officials at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport are urging passengers traveling through the airport to show up early, be patient and prepared. Craft Alliance to Hold Teapot Exhibition

The 13th biennial teapot exhibit opens March 9.

The Craft Alliance (CA) in University City will host a new exhibit in March — HOT TEA: 13th Biennial Teapot Exhibition. The opening reception is from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 9 in CA’s gallery in the Delmar Loop. Throughout the world, the drinking of tea is an integral part of the social fabric, from the everyday sharing of tea amongst friends to the traditional tea ceremony in Japan. The common thread linking all of these tea-time traditions is the dynamic of sharing. For this exhibition, artists from all media (clay, fiber, glass, metal and wood) share their appreciation and interpretation of the teapot with CA.  The roster of participating artists is impressive; this year’s exhibit includes 50 artists, 20 of whom are local or regional.
