How to Get Rid of Your Old Medicine in Ladue on Saturday

Did you know dumping your old drugs down the toilet is dangerous?

Remember all that out-of-date Tylenol, those expired antibiotics and the 10-year-old package of antihistamine that keeps falling out of your medicine cabinet? Time to get rid of it the right way. On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Ladue Pharmacy, the Ladue Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration will give you the chance to get rid of your unwanted medicines. Bring your drugs to the pharmacy at 9832 Clayton Road and they'll be disposed of safely, no questions asked. Woman Charged With Forging Percocet Prescription, Police Say

Ladue Police said a pharmacy technician at Ladue Pharmacy spotted clues the prescription was a fake.

A woman faces a criminal charge for altering a Percocet prescription and presenting it to Ladue Pharmacy. Stephanie Hepler, 36, of the first block of Country Squire Lane in unincorporated St. Louis County north of Creve Coeur, was charged Wednesday with fraudulently attempting to obtain a controlled substance. Ladue Police said Hepler forged a prescription for Percocet and took it to Ladue Pharmacy at 9832 Clayton Road Oct. 6. The pharmacy technician saw several clues the prescription was fraudulent, police said. Hepler was arrested inside the store at about 4:45 p.m. Oct. 6. Bail was set at $7,500 for Hepler. Police Taking Back Unwanted Drugs at Ladue Pharmacy This Saturday

Regular program to take back unwanted and unused drugs-no questions asked.

Information was provided by the Drug Enforcement Information and the Ladue Police Department. This Saturday, September 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the the Ladue Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public another opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.  Bring your medications for disposal to Ladue Pharmacy, 9832 Clayton Rd.  The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. Last April, Americans turned in 552,161 pounds—276 tons—of prescription drugs at over 5,600 sites operated by the DEA and nearly 4,300 state and local law enforcement partners.  In its four previous Take Back events, DEA and its partners…

Seniors Came to Deer Creek Cafe' to Learn About Better Drug Managment

The place was packed with seniors and their care givers to learn more on the subject.

Ladue, small in population doesn't have the benefits of a local community center. Rick and Marcy Williams, co-owners of Ladue Pharmacy and next door Deer Creek Cafe' want to do something about that. They have organized a number of after-hour events for the cafe to enrich the community with drug-related and senior issues information. Wednesday night, the cafe was packed end to end with seniors and care givers, there to learn more about drug management for the care of dementia, Alzheimers and other dreaded diseases. Their partner with this first venture was the leadership team of the Jewish Community Center's Senior Day Care program. Ladue Pharmacy and the Jewish Community Center Plan a July 18 awareness event.

Ladue resident and author Susan Elliott talked about her book and signed  her recently released autobiography 'Across the Divide: Navigating the Digital Revolution as a Woman, Entrepreneur and CEO' on Saturday at Deer Creek Coffee in Ladue. Deer Creek was very crowded Saturday, and Elliott had the opportunity to sell a number of books and chat with a wide variety of inquisitive customers and casual vistors. The event was hosted by the Ladue-Frontenac Patch. The 168 page book makes fascinating reading.
