Rams, who are without standout center Taylor Robinson, got 20 points from Liz Greenberg and 17 more from Kaitlynn Walker to end three-game losing streak.
The Ladue High girls basketball team began the 2012-2013 season on fire, winning its first three games and advancing to the final of the Fox Tournament two weeks ago. Standout senior Taylor Robinson, a 6'3 center whose headed to Temple University on a basketball scholarship next year, got hurt in that game and hasn't played since. And without her, the Rams had a difficult time in games against Pattonville and Parkway North -- both losses, that gave Ladue a surprising three-game losing streak. On Tuesday though, the Rams seemed to finally figure out how to play without their all-state center dominating post, thanks to huge nights by senior Liz Greenberg and sophomore Kaitlynn Walker, that led Ladue to an impressive 56-46 road win over John …

Sophomore center has helped Bombers snag wins in two of their first three games this season.
In the opening game of the new season, and with her team playing without its best player, sophomore Jordan McClendon scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead John Burroughs to a 33-15 win over Lift for Life Academy. That magnificent season debut earned McClendon a nomination in this week's Patch MVP Athlete of the Week voting. And with a strong showing of support from the JBS community, McClendon won the ballot this week (nabbing a whopping 70 percent of the votes cast) to become the third JBS student-athlete to win Patch MVP this year. Football players Peter Schnuck and Ezekiel Elliott received the Patch MVP honor earlier, and the jovial Jordan McClendon has joined them. Earlier this week, we caught up with Jordan and were able…

Representatives from all five Ladue-Frontenac-Olivette-area high school's made this week's Athlete of the Week candidate list. Fans can vote for a winner through 5 p.m. Thursday.
We took a week off from the Patch MVP voting to honor or Male and Female Patch MVPs of the Fall (Ezekiel Elliott of John Burroughs football and Natalie Gower of St. Joe volleyball). But it's time to bring back to weekly battle royale, as we ask fans to vote for their favorite local Athlete of the Week. Once again, we've nominated deserving representatives from all five local high schools, and we've opened up the voting to let the fans tell us, who should get the nod. Our friends over at Villa Duchesne have made this award all their own this month, by making sure each of our November votes went to the Saints' nominee. This week's vote marks the last time anybody from Ladue, John Burroughs, St. Joe, or MICDS will get a chance to keep Villa …

Sophomore Jordan McClendon led the way with 14 points and nine rebounds, as Bombers put away visiting Lady Hawks.
It wasn't very pretty, but all in all, it was pretty effective. That's the sentiment the John Burroughs girls basketball team left the Olin Fieldhouse on the JBS campus with Tuesday evening, after finishing off a thrilling 33-15 victory over the Lift for Life Academy of St. Louis. Sophomore Jordan McClendon led all scorers with 14 points and added nine rebounds, as the Bombers won a matchup of clubs playing their first games on the 2012-2013 girls basketball season. Burroughs, which came into the new season having lost 10 of its last 11 to end last year, made sure to kick off its new campaign in style by jumping out to a quick 8-0 lead, and never looking back in its first matchup ever against Lift for Life. The Bombers never trailed, and …

MICDS took fourth overall as a team, led by Haley Pryor’s gold medal win in the pole vault, while John Burroughs freshman Jordan McClendon stunned the field by winning the shot put.
JEFFERSON CITY -- MICDS senior pole vaulter Haley Pryor had bested 11 feet on several occasions this season, but in the biggest meet of the the season, Friday’s state championship competition at Lincoln University’s Dwight T. Reed Stadium, she just couldn’t get that high. Pryor admitted later that she felt off her game and was nursing an injury, but as fate would have it, none of that mattered, as the four-time state qualifier was the only participant to clear 10’ 9”, to claim her first state championship in an event she’s worked four years to master. Pryor also became the first MICDS athlete to win four medals in the same event, after finishing sixth as a freshman, fourth as a sophomore, and second last year as a junior. The Rams also got…
