Securities regulators are taking action against Greg John Campbell,a former employee of Creve Coeur firm LPL Financial, who they say made fraudulent transfers to pay for personal expenses.
State securities regulators are taking action against a Ladue investment advisor who allegedly made unauthorized transfers of more than $1.5 million from the accounts of his clients. Greg John Campbell used the money to pay for his own personal expenses, including loan payments on houses in St. Louis Boston, payments on a BMW car lease and payments to other clients, according to a petition filed by Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander. It alleges that Campbell used fraudulent documents to authorize the transfers and that his victims included an 86-year-old client who suffers from dementia and is currently residing in an assisted living center. One day after most of the statewide Republican Party ticket made its way to St. Louis County with a rally in Valley Park, Democrats, led by Governor Jay Nixon, gathered outside a Town and Country-area labor hall to urge on volunteers in the closing days of the campaign. Democrats are overwhelmingly confident that Missouri Governor Jay Nixon will be re-elected to a second term in Jefferson City. They are pessimistic that a Democrat will occupy the office that is second in line. In the latest unscientific Patch Blue Arch survey conducted Thursday through Saturday morning, 21 activists, current and former officials, and voters responded to questions about the party's statewide ticket. The latest "Red Arch" survey takes the pulse of Missouri Republicans regarding statewide races on the November ballot.
Missouri Republicans are bullish on the chances of Secretary of State candidate Shane Schoeller and Lt. Governor Peter Kinder's chances for re-election in November, but a majority are concerned that Dave Spence will not defeat Governor Jay Nixon next month. That's the biggest finding in the latest Patch "Red Arch" survey, a non-scientific project asking Republican activists questions tied to current issues in the 2012 election cycle. More than 70 people were invited to participate and 30 responded. When asked "Which statewide candidate are you most concerned about in November," a majority, 64.3 percent, named Spence. With just more than 40 days left until the November election, Missouri Democrats are confident in Governor Jay Nixon's chances for re-election but by a wide margin are worried about former State Auditor Susan Montee as she tries to unseat Republican incumbent Peter Kinder from the Lieutenant Governor's office. Those were the main findings of the most recent survey of Democrats as part of the Patch Blue Arch project, which asks current and former lawmakers, activists, voters and other party "influencers" in the weeks and months leading up to November's election. Every ten years, the truly dedicated political adherents become obsessed with maps. That fixation isn’t necessarily because they agree with this writer that cartography is awesome. Rather every ten years, states have to reconfigure their congressional maps to conform to population changes showcased in the U.S. Census. And often times, the process isn’t exactly neat and tidy. The redistricting process was the subject of a CNN special earlier this week entitled “Gerry-rigged: Ignoring the American Voter.” The report took a close look at “gerrymandering,” which involves drawing districts that can effectively protect a certain party or an incumbent lawmaker. Wagner campaign responds to speculation from Politico that she may switch races.
Ann Wagner wowed political observers with her latest fundraising quarter. So much so, in fact, that at least one politico speculated that she might be eyeing another contest. Wagner, a Ballwin Republican who previously served as Missouri Republican Party chairwoman and ambassador to Luxemburg, raised $532,093.07 in the 3rd quarter for her 2nd Congressional District bid.
