Developers Go Public With Sports Plans for Olivette's Warson Park

Jay Williamson & Joe Bannister want to bring ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer and field hockey to 25 acres of unused space.

Jay Williamson, graduate of John Burroughs and Ladue resident returned from the PGA golf tour a year ago for several reasons. He’s spent 24 years playing professional golf, some 15 on the PGA tour. Now, it was time to spend more time with the family with three young children; begin a business career and follow another dream he’d been working on for some time. Williamson, and business partner Joe Bannister of Webster Groves have designs on bringing indoor ice hockey; outdoor lacrosse, soccer and field hockey to Olivette. The duo eye the 25-acre piece of unused ground at Warson Park in Olivette. Matt Myer, MICDS Ice Hockey: MVP Week No. 7

Congratulations go out to Matt Myer, junior from MICDS, the Ladue-Frontenac Patch "Athlete of the Week." Patch. Com: How is your season going?  Matt Myer: It has been a really good season. I’ve had a lot of fun and the team has been awesome. We have grown a lot as a team, and it’s really nice to see some of the younger guys on the team step up and play big roles for us. We keep getting better with every game and we keep moving forward as a team. Brandon Klar: MICDS Hockey, Clear Choice for MVP This Week

Popular forward for the Rams will play baseball in college next year.

Brandon Klar, who leads the MICDS ice hockey team in scoring is the Ladue-Frontenac and Olivette Patch MVP this week. His win was an overwhelming choice. This is what he had to say to Patch:  Patch: If you are a senior, have you selected a college yet? Klar: I have not selected a college yet. I will be playing baseball in college but have yet to make a final decision on which school I will attend. Patch: How is your season going? Klar: Our season has been going well. We have a lot of younger guys on the team this year so we have been really focused on getting them well adapted to the higher level of play. MICDS Will Be Especially Busy Over the Holiday Break

Rams teams will be in action in their own holiday basketball tournament and away ice hockey games.

Information was provided by the Communications Department at MICDS. MICDS students will be on winter break beginning Friday, December 21, 2012 through Sunday, January 6, 2013. Students will return and classes will resume on Monday, January 7, 2013. School offices will be closed on December 24 and 25, and again on December 31 and January 1. Most offices will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on all other days during the break. Both boys and girls varsity basketball teams will be participating in the annual MICDS Holiday Tournament. The tournament gets underway in McDonnell Gymnasium with opening round games on December 21 and 22, and continues December 26-27-28-29. Winter Athletes of the Year

Time to Name the Top Male & Female Performers During the Winter Season of 2011

Now is the time to unveil the Ladue-Frontenac Patch female and male athletes for the winter sports season of 2010-11. There are many to choose from as one can imagine. Our area swimmers were sparkling in the water, hauling in a host of medals at the state meet. We had an area champion in wrestling and there were a number of basketball players who put on outstanding performances game in and game out. Local ice hockey players had their moments too. We will reveal the most outstanding athletes over the weekend. Once you see who we've selected, we are confident you will agree with our choices. The girls outstanding athlete will be presented tomorrow and the boys choice on Sunday. The schools we cover are John Burroughs, MICDS, Villa Duchesne, …
