More than one Parkway West graduate has found success in the world of entertainment in Hollywood. The latest is Brad Schiff. As an animator, Schiff cut his teeth on a number of popular American television series including MTV’s Celebrity Deathmatch, The PJs and Gary & Mike. It was working on Gary & Mike in 2001 in which Brad brought home a Primetime Emmy® Award for “Outstanding Individual Achievement In Animation.” Brad's commercial directing clients have included the NFL on Fox, Nintendo and Samsung. Eric Rhone talks about meeting up and becoming a lifetime friend of a Hollywood Star.
Eric Rhone is 47 and lives in Frontenac with his wife and three children. Eric graduated Normandy High School and is the business manager for Hollywood’s Cedric the Entertainer. Cedric is a Berkeley High graduate and the two met up as students at Southeast Missouri State University. They both launched business careers; Cedric started playing all the local clubs including the Funny Bone. Finally one day they shipped all their clothes to Hollywood and the rest of history. Patch conducted an extensive one on one interview with this fascinating figure from the world of entertainment. This is part one of a two-part series. The concluding interview is Tuesday on Patch: Cedric the Entertainer's Soul Man bus toured the Fair St. Louis grounds last …

Cedric the Entertainer's manager, producer and friend for life has a great story to tell.
Whatever you do, come back Monday and Tuesday and meet Eric Rhone, home grown talent in the world of entertainment. By his own admission, he was nothing more than a knucklehead at Normandy High School. But he met up with Cedric the Entertainer while vying for dorm space at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, and as they say, the rest is history. Rhone has gone on to a highly successful career as Cedric's executive director, producer, contract negotiator and confidant. They shuttle back and forth between here and Hollywood like we drive back and forth to Clayton. His family still calls Frontenac home. The interview has been broken into two parts, starting Monday morning on the Ladue-Frontenac Patch. Rhone's passion for …

Reuters (Aug. 25, 2011): US Merriam-Webster dictionary adds “tweet,” “bromance” "bromance" -- a "close, nonsexual friendship between men" Preston was deep into a flirting session with a spandex-clad female trainer when I first noticed him at a 24-Hour Fitness in Los Angeles. Even from across the room, I felt instant attraction — of the straight kind. His swagger spoke of a self-confidence that I badly wanted for myself. A tall, black man exuding a youthful demeanor, Preston could have been mistaken for Michael Jordan’s younger brother. As I would learn, his wide, muscled shoulders were rivaled only by his broad intellect and sly wit. In him, I saw the qualities I craved: humor, eloquence and the Obama factor — that ability to vibe with …
