A Florissant man currently in prison for stealing is accused of stealing True Religion jeans and shorts from Saks Fifth Avenue at Plaza Frontenac. Robert A. Floyd, 23, of the 2900 block of Aberdeen Drive in Florissant, was charged Friday with felony stealing. Frontenac Police said Floyd, acting with others, stole 27 pair of True Religion jeans and five pair of True Religion shorts Sept. 16 from Saks Fifth Avenue at Plaza Frontenac. The clothing was valued at a total of $7,689. Police said a security officer saw Floyd and others on video stealing and driving away from the store. Authorities from Ladue and Rock Hill help bring stealing suspect into custody.
A traffic stop on interstate 64 Thursday afternoon led to a police chase when a suspect tried to run from the scene, but Frontenac Police Chief Tom Becker said the man is now in custody. Becker said an officer stopped a vehicle heading eastbound on the highway east of Lindbergh Boulevard and that the plates matched those of a vehicle wanted in connection with a felony stealing case in Arnold and a felony shoplifting investigation in Overland. Becker said the passenger in the car made a run for it, but was tracked down with the help of Metro Air Support and police agencies in Ladue and Rock Hill. A man who fled from Frontenac officers during a traffic stop and crashed into a guardrail was driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, police said Christopher Zomphier, 34, of the 500 block of Pelican Lane in Florissant, was charged Jan. 29 with resisting arrest and driving while intoxicated, combined alcohol and drug intoxication. Frontenac Police said officers saw Zomphier driving on Interstate 64 near Ballas Road at about 1:58 a.m. May 26, and he kept drifting and failed to maintain a single lane. An officer pulled him over, but as he was walking towards his car, Zomphier sped away, according to a report. A Frontenac man was indicted by a St. Louis County grand jury Wednesday on a domestic assault charge. Frontenac Police said that Kyle Brigham, 40 of the 900 block of Dwyer Avenue in Frontenac, beat and choked his wife Oct. 16. The woman told police he had assaulted her in the past. Police said Brigham verbally abused his wife. Bond was reduced from $50,000 to $10,000 on the conditions that Brigham does not drink and drive, does not contact the victim and does not leave the state without the court’s permission. Brigham posted 10 percent of the $10,000 bond on Oct. 25 and was released from custody. A Frontenac man faces criminal charges after police said he assaulted his wife Oct. 16. Kyle S. Brigham, 40, of the 900 block of Dwyer in Frontenac, was charged Wednesday with second-degree domestic assault. Frontenac Police said he verbally abused the woman, beat and choked her. Police said he Brigham had beaten the woman in the past. Brigham is being held in St. Louis County jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond. A man faces criminal charges after police said he cut himself on a broken window during a burglary in Frontenac. The man also faces charges related to selling property stolen from a Town and Country home. Jeffrey Schwartz, of the 1200 block of Still House Creek Road in Chesterfield, was charged Friday with second-degree burglary and receiving stolen property. Frontenac Police said Schwartz broke a window in a home in the first block of Portland Avenue and climbed in the house. He fled before stealing anything, but cut himself on the broken window, leaving blood behind, according to a Frontenac Police report. Police said he was identified by a DNA match. A Creve Coeur man faces criminal charges for carrying a concealed weapon and driving while intoxicated last year in Frontenac. Daryl E. Mitchell, 55, of the 12500 block of Clark Manor Circle in Creve Coeur, was charged Monday with unlawful use of a weapon and driving while intoxicated as a prior offender. Frontenac Police said Mitchell sitting was in his car with the engine running on South Outer 40 Drive at South Spoede Road on Nov. 29. Officers approached him and saw he appeared to be drunk and subsequently failed sobriety tests, according to a police report.
