Crew raised $1,800 by selling pink t-shirts to the public.
If you saw Frontenac Fire Fighters out and about last fall, particularly in October, dressed in hot pink t-shirts, your eyes don't need an examination. You were not drinking. The fire fighters were authorized to wear the shirts on duty. They were raising money for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. Alltogether, they sold some 200 shirts and presented a check to the foundation for $1,800. Many of the buyers were nurses at nearby Missouri Baptist Medical Center and Mercy Hospital. In the picture for the effort are: Captain Jim McClain; Lieutenant Rob Judd and Privates William Wolf, Jeff Woodson and Brannan Austin. Emily Warrick accepted the check on behalf of the Frontenac department.

Captain Dean Everett retires after 21 years in the department.
Information was provided by the City of Frontenac. Recently Captain Dean Everett was presented a retirement plaque from Mayor Keith Krieg thanking Everett for his 21 years of service to the City of Frontenac. Although Everett is retiring from the City of Frontenac, he has chosen to accept a job as Chief Training Officer with the Cottleville Fire Protection District in St. Charles County. He was joined by his fellow fire personnel to receive he plaque.

Fire department will install these secure key locking devices free of charge.
The Frontenac Fire Department offers the services to install a Knox Box, which is a secure box that will contain a key to your home. The box will be installed by the Frontenac Fire Department and the key can be retrieved from the box in case of a fire or medical emergency at your home. The keys to the Knox Box are secured and held only by fire department personnel. Approximately 60 residents have had these installed. The cost of the Knox Boxes are less than $200 and are installed by the fire department at no charge. The story of a Texas teacher who saved a student's life got editor James Baer thinking.
A Dallas school teacher performed life-saving CPR on a 12-year-old with a heart arthemia. Ladue-Frontenac Patch checked with local law enforcements, schools and churches to find out how ready they are for heart-related emergencies. Ladue Ladue Fire Chief Eric Hinson says his community of 8,000 residents can rest easy. "They key to saving lives is to have a person with a heart incident having help within 4-5 minutes," Hinson explained. "We have automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) on all our fire trucks and in our police cars. Nearly all our firemen are paramedics now and they have all been trained to use this equipment." Someone torched the decorative totem pole bear on North Geyer Road.
Some one or a group vandalized the decorative totem pole bear at 2302 N. Geyer Rd. in Frontenac sometime early in the morning of June 14. The base of the bear was torched and the designer thinks it can be restored to its original state. The Frontenac Fire Department extinguished the fire around 5 a.m. The bear is situated at the front of the property of Terry and Tina Crouppen in Frontenac. Terry Crouppen is the principal owner along with Steve Brown with the law firm of Brown & Crouppen in downtown St. Louis. The bear stands some 10-12 feet in height.
