Ladue Schools Cautious After Instagram Threat Used Image of Newtown Shooter

Police patrol all the schools and the day was very uneventful.

As is said in the vernacular: “All is quiet on the western front.” After a threat was made anonymously on an Instagram account sometime Wednesday, Fox 2 News reported a second Instagram account had been created and that the user profile picture was that of the shooter in the Sandy Hook shooting in Newtown, CT. And with that Ladue school officials exerted extra caution and delivered an overnight message to school parents and the media that security would be heightened and extra caution taken at all buildings in the district on Thursday. School officials were working with local police in Ladue, Olivette and Creve Coeur at 2 in the morning to make sure all security possible would be in place. More Three-Digit Days: Ladue Heats Up Again Starting Today

The "Ladue-Frontenac Patch" offers tips and resources for staying cool and safe during the next several days when temps are expected to reach over 100 degrees.

It’s so hot and humid in Ladue and the rest of St. Louis lately that it almost feels like you’re stepping into a sauna when you step outside—and it doesn’t show signs of letting up for several days, according to Fox2Now’s Glenn Zimmerman. Get ready for more triple digit temperatures, starting Tuesday and lasting for most of the week. Zimmerman said that while there will be a few isolated showers during the week, there won’t be much rain—so there’s not much of a chance of cooler temperatures for several days. The National Weather Service states that heat-related illnesses are a real threat in this kind of weather, especially for small children, the elderly, those working outside and others with health conditions.
