Ladue Schnucks Holds Job Fair This Week

Schnucks is hiring for all of its St. Louis area stores. The job fair is Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at the Ladue Crossing Shopping Center store.

According to its website, Schnucks is now hiring for all positions at all of its St. Louis area stores. The grocery chain is holding a job fair from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wed., March 27, Thurs., March 28 and Fri., March 29 at the Ladue Crossing Shopping Center Schnucks store located at 8857 Ladue Rd. in Ladue. According to the store's website, the store is seeking to fill part-time positions and all require weekend availability. "The successful candidates will have a strong work ethic and a commitment to customer focus," Schnucks stated on its website. Applicants should apply online before attending the job fair. They can also call the Schnucks Employment Hotline at (314) 994-4170 or (800) 459-HIRE.

Home Depot Reportedly Hiring Nearly 1,000 Employees in St. Louis Area

Home Depot is taking applications now and reportedly plans to hire 975 seasonal workers in the St. Louis area.

The Home Depot announced Wednesday that it will fill more than 80,000 seasonal positions for spring which the company stated is its busiest selling season. "This year, The Home Depot is hiring ten thousand more spring associates than it did last year to support anticipated sales growth in the spring," the company stated in a news release on its website. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, 975 seasonal workers will be hired in the St. Louis area. The Home Depot has numerous store locations in the St. Louis area, including Town and Country, Ballwin, Chesterfield, Sunset Hills, Mehlville, Brentwood, Florissant and St. Charles. Whether you call it working from home or telecommuting, the movement toward setting up shop somewhere other than a traditional office or storefront is catching on.  My aunt in Florida is a paralegal who also sells Mary Kay and has a virtual jewelry business. My neighbor deals rare books and documents online. I recently met a public relations professional who also teaches an online class for a local university. There are legions of people running eBay auctions for a living; doing medical billing; providing consulting services in a variety of industries; you name it. The U.S. Census Bureau (American Community Survey 2005-2009) shows that four percent of the labor force works from home at least part of the time; more than 5.5 million people. …
