Dr. Cindy Haines, who is a contributor to Patch's Moms' Council, signed copies of her new book, The New Prescription: How to Get the Best Health Care in a Broken System, at Deer Creek Coffee on Saturday morning. The book focuses on what individuals can do to get the most out of the health care system. "It's what I'd tell you as a friend, relative or patient," Haines said. Ladue-Frontenac Patch sponsored the signing, with Patch Regional Editor Holly Edgell pouring free coffee for patrons at Deer Creek. Several people purchased copies of the book for Haines to sign, including friends of hers and people who just happened to be passing by or visiting Deer Creek for their morning coffee.
