CHARLES -- John Burroughs boys basketball coach Steve Wilcutt estimates that since the football season went so long, with the Bombers advancing all the way to the state championship game for the third straight year, that three weeks into the hoops season, his team has had eight practices and seven games. For most teams that ratio might be a death sentence, with so few practices to get ready for a three-month long season.
