Like Phoenix rising from the ashes Busch’s Grove location will feature a restaurant once more. This incarnation will be a wine bar restaurant run by the enterprising family of Dee Dee and Andy Kohn. Andy Kohn is a Country Day graduate; their two boys graduated MICDS and the family has moved from Ladue further west. The husband-wife team already own and operate Edge Wild Restaurant & Winery in Chesterfield. That concept will be coming to Ladue. It will not be the reincarnation what-so-ever of the shuttered Busch’s Grove. Of the thousand restaurants in St. Louis, Edge Wild II will be an exclusive gathering place, offering fine wines from their own vineyard in Defiance, MO and elsewhere. Cutting edge Wild Edge coming to the Busch's Grove location sometime late spring.
This Saturday and Sunday, the Ladue-Frontenac Patch will go 1 on 1 with Andy and Dee Dee Kohn, the new owners along with Chris LaRocca in Edge Wild, the restaurant that will bring the shuttered Busch's Grove location back to life. For decades it was a restaurant and the Ladue meeting place. Then it became Lester's Miller's extravagant adventure; then a grocery store then it went belly up for good. The Kohns plan to bring back the local location as a restaurant and fine wine bar. They will cater to young and old alike. Breaking news with the Ladue-Frontenac Patch. The contents of the news release directly from EdgeWild: EdgeWild Restaurant & Winery is opening a second location at the former Busch’s Grove in Ladue. Owners Andy and Dee Dee Kohn are teaming up again with veteran restaurateur and EdgeWild proprietor Chris LaRocca to open the new establishment in early summer 2013. LaRocca and EdgeWild’s Executive Chef Aaron Baggett are developing the menu for the new location. Executive Chef Baggett will oversee the kitchens and culinary teams at both locations.
