Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012 11:00 p.m. A male, age 49 was arrested for DWI on South Warson Road at Clayton Rd. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 3:40 p.m. A automobile accident happened on Ladue Road at Hunter Avenue in front of Enterprise Leasing. Two cars were involved and there were no injuries. 4:30 p.m. A hit and run accident occurred on Cella Road. A parked car was struck and the driver of the moving car fled the scene. Tuesday, August 21, 2012 10:12 a.m. A female, age 26 was pulled over and arrested on westbound I-64/40 at Spoede Road, wanted for traffic violations and for being a fugitive from the City of Ladue. 9:14 p.m. Ladue responded to a garage fire in the 1100 block of South Warson Road. The garage was damaged but the house was spared. Wednesday, August 22, 2012 1:58 p.m. Someone tried to enter a home in the 10000 block of Lay Road. A door was found entered but nothing appeared to be stolen. Tuesday, August 14, 2012 9:40 a.m. A purse, snatched sometime overnight from an unlocked automobile on Winwood Drive was reported stolen. The contents of the purse are unknown. 12:18 p.m. A larceny occurred on Glen Cairn Drive. Two large leaf blowers were stolen from the property. 4:32 p.m. A shop lifting was reported at the Old Navy Store at 800 Ladue Rd in the Ladue Crossing Center. Medical equipment, other items stolen on Kingston Manor and nothing taken on Rio Vista.
Ladue Police Chief Rich Wooten reports during the overnight hours on Thursday, August 16 severallocked and unlocked vehicles were entered on Kingston Manor and Rio Vista. Kingston Manor – One unlocked vehicle was entered and prescription medication taken from inside. Additionally, a locked vehicle was broken into with a bag taken containing personal property/medical equipment. Rio Vista – Three unlocked vehicle were entered and rummaged through with nothing taken from inside. Please report any suspicious activity in your neighborhood or information to the Ladue Police Department at (314) 993-1214 of if someone is spotted, call emergency 911. Sidewalks, fire house and other main issues will come up in the August meeting.
Often, the Ladue City Council deals with big picture issues. They may be faced with discussions about new sidewalks; commercial development or even plans to build new fire houses. This month’s monthly meeting Monday was far more mundane. The council approved a new fire hydrant and the purchase of a new police patrol car. In fact, the meeting lasted just 40 minutes, and much of that time was spent in discussion of eradication of honey suckle at the entrance to Mary Hill Lane. Next month’s meeting (August 20) promises to be weightier. If there is a nod on federal grants, sidewalks will be rediscussed along with another look at the fire house plans including cost estimates.
