Rams finish at 21-6. Shooters go cold down the stretch against the Red Devils.
This just seemed like the year the stars were all lined up right for the Ladue High basketball team. The team got hot early; took third-place in the MICDS holiday festival and shocked the daylights out of CBC, winning the Cadets own tournament with a 60-58 win over the host team. The team finally got a new hardwood floor and won all five regular home games. With a 21-5 record on the line in the district championship game, the Rams had visions of performing later in the month at Mizzou Arena. (Show Me Showdown state championships). Chaminade spoiled their travel plans. The Red Devils surged in the second half, and cruised to a 64-55 district championship Friday night in a packed Nielson Gym. The Rams pretty much lived and died by the long-…

District tournament finals on Rams home floor features two high-flying teams. Plan on arriving early.
The Class 5, District 2 championship game, Chaminade at Ladue Friday night is 24 hours away, and Rams’ coach Chad Anderson is already totally amped. He expects great things, especially when playing on their brand new home maple floor. For the first time in some 15 years, the Rams were able to host a district championship. The event has gone off flawless to date. In the semifinals, Ladue came out firing and smothered St. Louis U. High 67-51. In the other semifinal match, Chaminade evened the record with Riverview Gardens for the season 1-1 with an 82-56 whipping. Both games were played Tuesday night at Ladue. Chaminade is 17-8, and features plenty of younger players. Ladue is riding the crest of a 21-5 season. Anderson loved the play of his…

Bombers stay unbeaten by holding Red Devils to 19 points in final two quarters of 53-48 come-from-behind victory in first round of Chaminade Tournament.
CREVE COEUR -- For the first two quarters of Wednesday’s Chaminade Christmas Tournament opener between the host Red Devils and visiting John Burroughs, the visitors looked like maybe they’d eaten too much turkey and dressing during their holiday dinners the night before. The Bombers were slow on defense, late on close-outs, and flat ineffective as rebounders. But in the second half, the No. 10-ranked team among all area Small School clubs, looked like its old self again, as Burroughs turned its defense into high gear and held off the hard-charging Chaminade squad, for a hard-fought 53-48 victory. “We didn’t play well on defense at all during that first half,” Burroughs head coach Steve Wilcutt said. “They had 29 points in the first half, …

Chaminade sophomore Trey Dodd had three goals and an assist, as Red Devils romp over Rams 12-2.
MANCHESTER -- For the MICDS hockey team, opening the 2012-2013 season against one of the area's best teams, nearby rival Chaminade Prep, has a certain upside, but also comes with a potentially tremendous downside. On the positive end, the Rams get to gauge exactly where they stand as a club in their first game of the season, in a matchup against a Chaminade team many believe could contend for the Mid-States Hockey Association Challenge Cup title at the end of the year. The problem there though, is if MICDS isn't quite ready for a matchup against Chaminade, then the Rams could be in for a long night against an elite-level club like the Red Devils. And unfortunately for MICDS, Saturday night's season-opening meeting turned out to be the …
