Tough Ending to a Productive Season for St. Joe Softball

Robyn Weible captured the action at C&H Ballpark in St. Peter's Saturday.

The season did not end the way the St. Joseph's Academy Angels softball team had planned it. They ran into a hornets nest Saturday in regional competition at C&H  Ballpark in St. Peter's, losing to Francis Howell of St. Charles, 10-0. Howell with a 20-8 record advances to the state quarterfinals with the victory. The St. Joe season comes to a halt at 14-9. It was still a good year for JP Cummings team with a variety of bright spots. The 13-3 win the previous game over Hazelwood West in the sectional championship was a big one. The Angel bats went comatose at the wrong moment. They managed just 2 hits in a 5-run abbreviated game.
