Ladue Field Hockey Shuts Out Brentwood 4-0. Numerous Photos on Ladue-Frontenac Facebook Page

Barb Dwyer's Rams having an outstanding season. Ready for the playoffs.

The Ladue Rams field hockey team posted a 4-0 shutout of Brentwood yesterday. They are having a fine season and ready for the Midwest playoffs coming soon. They will brace for competition from all the area private schools. Elise Pellett, Courtney Emert, Maria Vetter and Hillary Bloch scored against Brentwood for the Rams. Coach Barb Dwyer said against Brentwood they were able to do a lot of substituting. “We worked on our passing,” she said. “The team also just works on focusing and staying into the game, and I thought they did a good job.” She said they’re coming back from injuries, and it’s finally starting to click with the team. They play St. Joe on Friday. “It will be a really tough game, and we tried to use this to practice passes …

Ladue Field Hockey: Snappy 5-0 Shutout of Clayton

Barb Dwyer is the teacher and Darby Hogan is the pupil, at least that’s how it goes in field hockey. Hogan played for Dwyer at Ladue High, and now has the reigns of the Clayton High program. Wednesday afternoon, Dwyer took student pretty much to school. Dwyer has been at coaching a long time and has an established program with which to draw talent. Hogan on the other hand is painfully creating interest one year at a time,  and building a program slowly.  The Greyhounds have won just 3 games this year. Ladue rolled up four first-half goals and cruised to a a clock shortened 5-0 victory over the visitors from Clayton. Ladue got its 4th and 5th goals from senior Caroline Stapleton. Ladue Field Hockey Points to Senior Leadership

Elise Pellett returns as one of the top scorers in the area from 2011.

Veteran coach Barb Dwyer will field another strong team and one of the better public schools in the area. A main goal will be knocking off some of the private schools in the area on their schedule, including the likes of Whitfield, John Burroughs, Visitation Academy, St. Joe, Villa Duchesne, Episcopal School of Dallas and others along the way. The Rams bid adieu to their goal keeper Bea Dageford who logged 1,438 minutes in the net. Gone is Elena Gresick (Johns Hopkins) who had 8 goals and 25 points. The Rams return 8 experienced veteran players. Defenders Maria Vetter and Addie O’Neill are co-captains and key to the campaign. Elise Pellett was third highest scorer in the metro and returns.
