Ladue Raises Dollars for Scholars

Parents, teachers and other supporters of Ladue students gather for a Mardi Gras-themed event.

On a dreary Saturday night, about 100 people gathered for the Ladue Dollars for Scholars Mardi Gras Event at The Gallery at ISC Surfaces in Olivette. The March 5 event included raffles, a silent auction, cocktails and appetizers. Event co-chairs Diane Patershuk and Sherrie Hodgins organized the night's festivities, along with the "Ladue Krewe" - the team of volunteers who assisted them. The event was a fundraiser for the Ladue Scholarship Fund, and the money raised will go to deserving 2011 seniors at Ladue Horton Watkins High School (as chosen by teachers there). As guests entered the gallery, they were greeted by a large, inflatable Mardi Gras court jester and the music of The Peter Schlamb Group. At the check-in desk, they received …

The Motto is: "Not I, But We"

St. Joe's supporters came together to raise money for the school.

On February 26, supporters of St. Joseph's Academy gathered for the school's annual auction night, which was co-chaired by parents Ann DeWoskin, Julie Huber and Julie Meersman. The evening brought hundreds of parents, teachers and other community members together, which reinforced St. Joe's motto: "Not I, but we." The festivities started with a mass at 4:30, followed by the start of the silent auction and cocktails at 5:30. The theme of the night was "An Evening in Paradise with the Angels," which lent the way for tropical decor and dress. Leis and tropical shirts were in abundance, and the lobby at St. Joe's was incredibly decorated. The entryway was made to make guests feel like they were going on a tropical getaway, complete with surf …

Conway Parents and Teachers Laissez les bons temps rouler

Supporters of Conway Elementary School gathered at the Frontenac Hilton for a Mardi Gras-themed auction and dinner.

Parents, teachers and other supporters of students at Conway Elementary School took over the Ambassador Ballroom at the St. Louis-Frontenac Hilton on Feb. 12 to raise money for the school. The event included an auction, drinks, a dinner and dancing, all with a Mardi Gras theme. About 170 people were in attendance that night, and some took advantage of the theme by wearing purple, gold or green, donning some festive masks and stacking up the strands of beads around their necks. Event co-chair Beth Wasserstrom, who is a parent of two Conway students, said they originally were going to go with a Valentine's Day theme, but opted for Mardi Gras because it sounded like a fun idea. The night started with appetizers and cocktails, some of which …
