Doris and her late husband Donald O. Schnuck founded Schnucks Markets grocery stores. Although she moved from Ladue, some of her children who still run the grocery store chain, still live there.
Doris Schnuck, wife of the late Donald O. Schnuck, died May 11, 2013, at her home in Clayton. Together the Schnucks expanded Schnucks Markets, which has grown to include over 100 grocery stores. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Schnuck, 88, had been in failing health recently. Her children, who still live in Ladue, run the family company now. Quoting from the Post-Dispatch: Scott Schuck is chairman of the board and CEO. Todd Schnuck is president and COO. Craig Schnuck is chairman of the executive committee. The memorial service for long-time Ladue Chapel member Dorothy Biggs was held this week after she passed away at the age of 98, according to her obituary in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
The memorial service for long-time Ladue Chapel member Dorothy Biggs was held this week after she passed away at the age of 98, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Among the loved ones she leaves behind are her children and grandchildren. "Dorothy will be remembered for her great love and appreciation for her family and friends. Brian Leigh Finlay, a graduate of Mary Institute & Country Day School and a resident of Town and Country, died on Easter Sunday at age 47. Family members will have a private burial on Friday and a memorial service for the local orthodontist, who practiced in Des Peres and Wildwood, on Saturday. According to his funeral notice, Mr. Finlay's family thanked friends "who loved and supported Brian and the family throughout his life and especially during the past 15 months." Mr. Finlay graduated from MICDS in 1984 and later graduated from Northwestern University's dental school and completing his residency in orthodontics at St. Louis University.
