Sign of the Arrow Hosts Volunteer Appreciation Event

Volunteers thanked for more than 21,000 hours of service to the community.

To thank volunteers for their dedication and hard work, Sign of the Arrow’s Board of Directors hosted a Volunteer Appreciation event May 2nd at the shop. Sign of the Arrow is a non-profit specialty and gift shop founded by the St. Louis Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi. Volunteers were thanked for the 21,000+ hours of service they provided to the shop over the last year.

Along with the small staff, 80+ community volunteers help run the shop. Allproceeds from Sign of the Arrow benefit area agencies. Since its inception, Sign of the Arrow has donated more than $3.3 million to 150+ local charities. Shoppers truly impact the lives of St. Louisans by shopping at Sign of the Arrow.

“Our Volunteer Appreciation event is a small way of saying thank you for everything they do,” remarked Mary Mullendore, President, Sign of the Arrow. “Volunteers fill positions on the sales floor, but they also serve in a variety of other capacities, ranging from fiber, canvas, and gift buyers to class coordinator and electronic communications manager.”

“Each one of them is so dedicated and provides an essential function. And, many of our volunteers hold more than one position,” Mullendore continued. “We wouldn’t be able to provide as much support to the community without all of our volunteers. We think it’s very important to show how much we appreciate them!”
