Fireworks Display at St. Louis Country Club Postponed

Ladue Fire Department cancels show due to extreme fire conditions.

The Ladue Fire Department has decided with all things considered, it would be best not to issue a permit for a fireworks show at St. Louis Country Club. This fireworks show has been a long-standing tradition in the community.

Though the show has been for the members and their guests each year, the club has graciously opened its streets so visitors could also engage in watching the show.

"We spoke with the state fire marshall and we just felt it best to not issue a permit," said Ladue's Police Chief Rich Wooten. The conditions in and around the club and the surrounding neighborhood are entirely too hot and the trees and grass are far too dry to chance the show at this time.

Officials at the club are considering holding the fireworks show at a more suitable date, later this summer.
