Tideriders Finish in Top 10 at Regionals

The Clayton Shaw Park team finished seventh overall in the meet in Columbia.

The Clayton Shaw Park Tideriders had a big weekend at the Speedo Central Sectional Region Eight Championships which were held July 20-23 at the University of Missouri in Columbia.

The Tideriders finished seventh overall among the 30 plus teams in the meet. The girls were sixth while the boys were eighth.

"This was a very good meet with several college teams and we had some really good performances in just about every single event," Tiderider coach Dave McCrary said. "We were not ranked to have a lot of second swims (top 24) but we had a lot of kids get to the finals and had some good swims at the finals as well."

The Tideriders also qualified nine individuals to the Junior Nationals which begin Aug. 8 at Stanford University.

The women's 400 free relay team of Elizabeth Krane (Clayton), Maddie Wall (Ladue), Mary Beth Howard (Parkway West) and Annie Goessling (MICDS) also will travel to California next week with a qualifying time.

Goessling also had three top eight finishes in individual events, finishing sixth in the 100 breast, seventh in the 200 breast and eighth in the 200 IM.
