St. Louis Bridge Center Grand Opening Sept. 12

The center will have a home on Olive Street at McKnight Road soon.

The St. Louis Bridge Center has found at home and it will be at 8616 Olive Blvd. in the location of the old Famous Brand shoe store  in University City. That store is on the western edge of the old center at Olive Boulevard and McKnight Road.

The center will celebrate its grand opening on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 5-7 p.m. with a reception open to the public. Free hors d’oeuvres and wine will be served.

The center is much the success thanks to donations by retired businessman William Canfield, president of the Talx Corp. Former Ladue Mayor Irene Holmes loves bridge and is also a donor.

This will be a comfortable and inviting setting for everyone in St. Louis who loves the game of bridge. The goal is to get more players involved, to educate people to the game and to play in an environment conducive to furthering the sport.
