MVP, Week 3: The Call Goes Out for Nominees

Who should get considered for this week's athlete of the week in Ladue-Frontenac-Olivette?

Time to step off for the Ladue-Frontenac-Olivette MVP for week 2.

Here are some athletes who are worthy of recognition:

Bethany Besancenez, St. Joseph's Academy girls volleyball: Leading in serving percentage this season so far and an average of 1.33 digs per game.

Eric Petersen, junior soccer player for Ladue: Coach Matt Prange says Eric is the anchor of the defense for the Ladue soccer team.  Last week, Ladue shut out Pattonville, Parkway South, and Ritenour.  The 6-2-1 Rams now have five shutouts.

Collin Ladd, Ladue: Coach Corey Miller nominated freshman swimmer Collin "for outstanding swims in the 400 free relay and an individual 100 freestyle" in the Eudal Early Season Invitational on Saturday.

Alim Muhammad, MICDS junior running back for the Rams football team. He's got three touchdowns this season so far and had several key running plays on Saturday, including a touchdown run to put the Rams on the board.

Elise Marker, Villa Duchesne cross-country: The sophomore is the Ladue area leader after the Forest Park Festival Tournament on Saturday and the winner of the small schools division in the tournament with a time of 19:16.10.

Time to expand the list more in order to to make up Wednesday’s ballot. All nominations must be made by the end of the day Tuesday. Balloting starts Wednesday, and ends Thursday, promptly at 5 p.m. The winner of week No. 3 will be recognized this coming weekend.
