MICDS, Ladue Girls Enjoy Memorable Day at State Track Meet

MICDS senior Lauren Waterbury and Ladue senior Samantha Levin each excel in Jefferson City.

MICDS senior Lauren Waterbury excelled in four separate events as the Rams won the Class 3 state track and field team championship this past weekend in Jefferson City. Waterbury placed first in the long jump, open 400-meter dash, 200-meter and was part of the winning MICDS 800-meter relay team at Lincoln University.

It is the MICDS girls first state track and field team title. The Rams had 71 points, easily outdistancing Festus (45).

Meanwhile, for Ladue in Class 4, it was a special day for senior Samantha Levin. She set a new state record in the 800 with a time of 2:06.74.
