Ladue Varsity Girls Lacrosse Team Remains Unbeaten

Rams are ranked number one in the state.

They’ve put on quite a show this year as the remaining unbeaten team in girls Lacrosse.

Yesterday’s game versus Parkway North started off with a Ladue behind in a 2-0 deficit. “The girls must be thinking of the Burroughs game” said Ladue Activities Director Kurt Knoedelseder. Soon, with concentration regained, the girls went onto defeat the Vikings 16-4.

Scoring for Ladue was Paige Mastorakos (4 goals, 1 assist) Carter Newton (3 goals 2 assists) , Hannah Mastorakos (3 goals), Parker Harrington, (2 goals 3 assists)  Elena Gresick (2 goals one assist) Lily Hustava (2 goals one assist). Becca Langsam was in goal for the rams and chalked up the win with 8 saves.

Scoring for the Parkway North Vikings was Samantha Thomas with 3 goals and Renee Fleddermann with one goal. Goalie Shawna Lawson had 12 saves.

With the win behind them, there is plenty of talk about the upcoming game against John Burroughs School. Their success so far this season is  spread over a core of good players both offensive and defensive. The top three scoring leaders in girls’ lacrosse are Ladue Girls. The top three in assists are Ladue girls.  Becca Langsam is the top rated goalie with the lowest GAA of 3.47 and two shutouts. They are sharing the good fortune and the goals are coming from a number of girls. That could make them difficult to shut down.

“We are now ranked number one in the State of Missouri,” boasted assistant coach Bob Panke.

Injuries that have plagued other teams have not hurt the Rams. Freshman, Cam Newton is the only player out and questionable for Fridays next big game against John Burroughs School. Burroughs have has their share of injuries. Perennial JBS Lax standout Emily Valli is out again after a knee injury, after a similar injury last season.

The season for the Rams continues with upcoming games vs Rockwood Summit - May 2, Visitation - May 5, Parkway West - May 5, Clayton - May 9, and Westminster - May 11. Check the school website for times and any changes.

Heading into this game hopes are high and turnout is expected to be high. Today, the ladyRams are at Marquette. Friday, they host John Burroughs at Ladue Middle School at 4 p.m.
