Ladue Field Hockey Points to Senior Leadership
Elise Pellett returns as one of the top scorers in the area from 2011.
Veteran coach Barb Dwyer will field another strong team and one of the better public schools in the area. A main goal will be knocking off some of the private schools in the area on their schedule, including the likes of Whitfield, John Burroughs, Visitation Academy, St. Joe, Villa Duchesne, Episcopal School of Dallas and others along the way.
The Rams bid adieu to their goal keeper Bea Dageford who logged 1,438 minutes in the net. Gone is Elena Gresick (Johns Hopkins) who had 8 goals and 25 points.
The Rams return 8 experienced veteran players. Defenders Maria Vetter and Addie O’Neill are co-captains and key to the campaign.
Elise Pellett was third highest scorer in the metro and returns. She scored a robust 22 goals, 12 assists for 56 points last year. Courtney Emert who tallied 24 points returns.
Under class players to watch include Grace and Sarah Waldman and Riley Kniptash.
The Rams open August 29, home at 4:25 p.m. versus Oakville, then play in the season opening Gateway Classic at the Soccer Park in Fenton. They have drawn matches with Whitfield, Dallas Episcopal and Kentucky Country Day.
“I am optimistic about this season and hopeful the seniors will provide a lot of positive leadership and set an example of hard work and having high expectations for the team,” said Dwyer.
