Villa Duchesne Searches For New Head of School

Current Head of School Lucie Nordmann will retire from the position at the end of the school year.

Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School has formally announced the search for their next Head of School. In 2009, Sister Lucie Nordmann took over as interim head of school under a three-year contract, set to expired in June 2013.

“Sr. Nordmann has set ambitious goals for 2012-13, the achievement of which will further strengthen her legacy,” said John J. Hanichak, chair of Villa’s board of trustees, in a statement on Villa’s website. “Sr. Nordmann and the Board of Trustees will have ongoing discussions on what role she wishes to have in the future.”

The school has retained the services of Education Access Strategies to assist in the search for the new head of school. A complete description of the job and ideal candidates can be found on their website.

Applications for the position are due Jan. 7, 2013. The new head of school will take over on July 1, 2013.

“We remain most grateful for the leadership and contributions of Sr. Nordmann in collaboration with the leadership team, faculty and staff, and friends of Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School,” Hanichak said in a statement. “We hope that her plans for the future will continue to bless our school community. We are absolutely committed to attracting an outstanding successor who will build on all she has accomplished for our school and our students in fulfillment of our mission to transform the world, one child at a time. “
