Nothing Quite Like a Good Sunburn and A Clear Spring Day at Our Area Track & Field Meets.

One of the true rites of spring are the mega weekend track and field meets for high school athletes. Schools, large and small gather for major invitational meets each weekend. The sea of different bright colors is brilliant.

The student-athletes get to show off their skills in the hurdles, sprints, middle and distance events and a wide variety of field events including pole vault, shot put, discus, high jump, long jump and triple jump.

In the early going, the emphasis is on team depth and relay performances. Individual performances become much more important as district and state championships loom in May.
