The Perfect Play Happened Early on September 10

Check out the blocking by MICDS in the annual rivalry game with John Burroughs.

This is for football coaches at all levels and aficionados of the game.

Way back in week three of high school football, on a very hot day, MICDS and John Burroughs tangled in the annual rivalry game on the Bombers home turf. As it turned out, MICDS won that day 45-20. Since they both teams won the rest of the way out, amassing a combined 27-1 record and berths in the Show-Me Bowl.

Friday, at 4:15 (14-0) MICDS meets (14-0) Webb City. On Saturday at 5:45 p.m., Burroughs will be back for the second consecutive year, this time with a 13-1 record, taking on newcomer 13-1 Logan-Rogersville. Last year, Richmond came from behind to edge the Bombers for the Class 3 title.

I shot thousands of photos this season and this is the one I personally cherish. It is a coaching clinic all in one photo.

Running back A.J. Washington (25) is breaking off tackle for a big gainer. Examine this photo carefully. Every single blocker for the Rams has a man blocked perfectly, with one offensive player even taking on two defenders at the same time.

This photo is a once-in-a-life-time opportunity. I will keep it close by.

Best of luck to our local powerhouses from the Ladue-Frontenac Patch, the Bombers and the Rams.
