Students Celebrate International Day of Peace

Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School marks September 21

Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School joined with people around the world on September 21 to celebrate International Day of Peace. The middle school students prepared a prayer service for Villa Duchesne. Banners with peace doves and ribbons, symbolizing all the nations of the world, were hung in the school chapel. The elementary school students prepared for the day by making origami doves; each dove included a peace prayer written by an Oak Hill student.

International Day of Peace has been recognized by the United Nations since 1982.
