St. Joseph's Academy Annual Fundraising Event, An Evening With the Angels Was About the Big Apple

New York, New York was the theme this year at St. Joe's annual fundraising event.

St. Joseph’s Academy rolled out the red carpet and student paparazzi greeted guests with a “welcome” and a snapshot Saturday night at St. Joe’s annual fundraising event, An Evening with the Angels, New York, New York. 

Several hundred were in attendance to help St. Joseph’s Academy raise funds for their school. The event was a balance of glitz and glamour, elegance and lighthearted fun.

Students were actively involved in many ways helping to make the theme New York, New York come to life. Several students posed as Occupy Wall Street protesters, while some students posed as street performers.

Sophie Sansone wore roller blades and was dressed in yellow and black with the words “Taxi” written on the front of her costume and “In Service” written on the back. 

“It is so fun. I just have to roll around,” said Sanson.

Mary Cate O’Brien was painted green all over and was dressed as Lady Liberty and other students helped to make the night a success by serving hors d’ oeuvres, serving dinner and keeping water glasses filled.   

Students dressed as newsboys said they walked around waving newspapers around while calling out in their best New York accents.

All students dressed as “New Yorkers” added a fun dimension to this elegant event.

 A silent auction was open for viewing and bids prior to an exquisite dinner. There were hundreds of quality items from which to choose including sports tickets, jewelry, trips, restaurant gift cards, fur coats, gift baskets, a wine cellar with more than 80 different wines and so much more.
