St. Joe Students Help Clean Up in Wake of Katrina Aftermath

Twenty one students surpass vacation time to help stabilize New Orleans neighborhoods.

Twenty-one students from St. Joseph’s Academy, along with several faculty and staff members, spent their spring break in New Orleans helping to rebuild the city’s destroyed infrastructure and homes.

The young ladies got to the workplace each morning at 7:00 a.m. and worked until 5:00 p.m. While there they installed insulation, built porches, painted railings and built sidewalks.  Each evening the girls de-briefed on how they had “helped the dear neighbor” that day.
